Need something to do while browsing dreadfully dull sell orders? Try your luck at the Ship Spinning Inc. [SLOTS] slot machines! There's bound to be something to suit your taste, with prizes from Slicer or Cynabal, to Bhaalgorn or Freighter, to even the infamous monocle of obnoxious wealth (two people have won that so far, actually).
Find us at http://shipspinning.com for more details. To play, just donate the ISK you want to use in game to the Ship Spinning Inc. [SLOTS] corporation, and wait for the API to automatically pull it (can take up to 15-30 minutes).
To activate your account, you need to visit the site using the in-game browser, and grant it trust to verify your identity. After that, you can set a password you can use to log in using any browser (for your safety, please don't use your Eve password), or you can continue to just play in the in-game browser.
For more details, read this nifty FAQ we have. You can also check the list of winners, and contact them yourself to make sure I'm not just pulling your leg.
But wait, there's more! For a limited time, you can use the code SELLORDERSPIN to get an absolutely free 2,000,000 ISK to try things out with! Input it in the "My Character" page to use it. I don't know how long I will keep it available, so take advantage of it while it's around!
Good luck, and have fun!

Contracted! You still haven't beat the record of luckiness though. Some newbie (on his trial account even) wanted to play, but couldn't donate money because he was on a trial. So, I let him donate me a Rupture for 5 mil ISK credit. He went on to win a Stabber Fleet Issue, a Caracal Fleet Issue, and an Ashimmu. Ridiculous!
Make sure you let people know about this! I have exciting ideas in store if I get enough of an ISK buffer to be secure (think things like Jump Freighters?) |

Bumping for great justice and ship spinning.
Speaking of ship spinning, there may be something special I'm doing to celebrate the return of ship spinning tomorrow. Sign up for [SLOTS] while you have time to! |

I saw! You had a pretty mean streak going! There was another guy who won 2x Hulk, 2x Dramiel, and 1x Phantasm once you were done, and he didn't cash in any of them. That smarted.
I hope you're having fun! Let your friends know about [SLOTS] too!

If you want free spinning credit to spin to win free ships, it should be noted that I have in the past (and will in the future) reward those who come to me with good ideas for the site, reports of bugs, marketing ideas, etc. If I end up using your idea, it's almost certain that you'll find some free credit in your [SLOTS] wallet with a "One good turn deserves another" note from me.
Just a thought for those bright minds out there! |

To add to Jelrenja's point, I have seen both cases of spectacular winnings and spectacular losses. There were some who invested hundreds of millions of ISK and hardly got a few faction frigates out, while others invested less than 50 mil but got multiple faction cruisers. There was also one guy who I thought was wasting all his money, losing hundreds of mil, until he won a monocle after investing like 500-600 mil.
But hey, that's luck for ya! Come try yours today! |

Thanks for your comments! I'm glad to see people are enjoying Ship Spinning Inc.!
Lureei, your most recent Noctis is a bit slow in being delivered since I was not able to get online yesterday evening to do so. I will deliver it in at most 12-ish hours today though. Thanks for your patience! |

You know, CCP are not the only one improving and developing their product. We here at Ship Spinning Inc. [SLOTS] are also fans of iterative development and improvements. Here are some things to look forward to, coming SoonGäó:
- Recent winners ticker - the news section on the front page is going to sidle over a bit, and make room for a new column that will display the most recent lucky people to win ships. (currently in development)
- Better mouseover options - more info provided on mouseover and in general on the detail page of each reel.
- Better organization of stations - Sorting by price, faction, etc. This is also a precursor to adding a lot more stations (including ones offering things like blueprints for shiny stuff like capital ships, maybe!)
- Cumulative win statistics - Top winners, most won prize/ship, total ISK cost of prizes given out, and other neat things.
There will also be server side improvements for better smooth running of [SLOTS]:
- Feeds for wins - until now I have needed to maniacally check the wins page for any new winners. Why not let Google Reader do it for me?
- Market-wide price tracking - keeping track of the market price of all the prizes I give out -- vital for some of the stuff I detailed above, and will also make the payout process smoother
- Automated market crash alert - when Dramiels get nerfed and their price drops, it's not fair that the Angel station's average ISK payout drops below the other factions. I try my best to watch the market and keep station balance, but it would be more awesome of I received warnings of that happening?
Some of these feature ideas are courtesy of Jelrenja Scatterhood, who will receive copious piles of free [SLOTS] credit for suggesting them.

Jelrenja Scatterhood wrote:Heya Folks, this is only a subjective posting!! If u check the Winners Log i think the Win Chance of "Gambling Industry ISK" is to high and Ships is to low. i've done several spins yet and followed the Winners log. You can see the "ISK Wins" rly dominate. Dont get me wrong i dont wanna get 2 Hulk and a Freighther with 30 Spins. But if u spend around 100 Spins and i rly think "Apachekills" have done them or more and only 1 Noctis is a bit low if u compare the other stations Win logs. I know Viddiy live from donated ISK and the Value of prizes is lower then the spended ISK, no secret 'cause all Lucky Games works like that . feel free to Comment, but hold in Mind its subjectiveJel
Hey, Jel. I just ran a statistically significant (read: very high) number of test spins to determine whether there is anything I need to do to balance the Gambling Industry station, and there is not. It is paying out at the promised rate of 90% (accounting for current market values extracted from EVE-Central), as I try to get all of the stations to.
However, there were significantly more ISK wins than ship wins. This is the case with all the stations normally, since if the smallest prize was a ship, I'd have to deliver tens of them every day to multiple people, and that would be bad for my personal life and bad for the market. In this particular case, there may be a little fewer than usual ships, since the slots had to be readjusted to compensate for the spike in the price of Hulks because of Goonswarm's high sec gank spree. It will return to normal as Hulk prices calm down.
Also, remember that the Winners page only shows who won, not who spun, or how many times they did so, or how much ISK they invested into it. Trying to base conclusions on that can be... misleading.
tl;dr: blame Goonswarm for fewer indy ships, if that is even the case. |

I have already had that idea, and would like to do it at some point. The only thing is that I don't trust the Eve Wiki to not suck, so I want to use it as little as possible. As such, ingame, it should bring up the item's description (just like clicking on the person in the Winners page brings up the person's info). Out of game, though, it should bring up the wiki.
That's a bit more complicated, especially since it shows up in a zillion parts of the code, but I may have to implement this.
Unfortunately I am not going to be offering shiny free credit for this, as I already had that idea. I should give myself free credit!
Thanks for the effort, though! |

I probably ought to post that Ship Spinning Inc. is running a super duper holiday special on buyout prices. Read more about it in the news post!

IrishSoul wrote:Malleos Eisenhorn wrote:Went in for 45mil, didn't win any ships but this is a nifty concept :) As a Neut pilot the possibility to win a Bhaalgorn or Ashi makes me drool... its gambling, and its addictive i had a few great runs where i would deposit 200m and win 3-400m worth of ships, and then depost 500m and only win 150m worth of ships. got me addicted atleast , altho i havent played since my last bad run :p
Like the old Eve adage: "Don't flyspin what you can't afford to lose".
I try to always keep all the chances of the different stations fair to the players. It really shouldn't make me happy to lose money when someone wins something big, but knowing that ship spinning made their day is a good feeling.
IrishSoul wrote: anyhow, i love what viddyi has done and the site is easy to comprehend. however, i would like to see the "slotmachine" get a graphical makeover.
It's on my to-do list. I have been working on the site, but the improvements have mostly been back-end stuff, like a better interface for handing out prizes, and market probing to allow me to better manage times when ship prices go haywire.
Fun fact: did you know that every time the market shifts significantly I run several tens of thousands of trial spins of each slot machine to make sure it's paying out as it should be? The actual number depends on how patient I'm feeling that day, and whether I want to make my hosting provider want to tear his head out because I lock up the server for a bit.
Thanks for playing! |

emllik wrote:Was a huge skeptic at first, but after depositing 70m and coming out with an Ashimmu, Vigilant and Noctis and a bunch of free credit winnings I am a skeptic no more.
Lotta fun and a nice new way to gamble my iskies away.
Kudos to you!
E
No sense in scamming if I can make ISK by having a legit business. Besides, the turnover of ISK is rather huge. Multiple tens of billions of ISK have passed through my hands, but I've never had any more than 4-5 billion ISK on hand at any one time (which is actually why I can't offer things like Jump Freighters yet; get more people playing!). Taking everyone's ISK and running would make for a very poor scam, since people would stop giving me ISK. A gambling business is just not a very viable scam method.
Glad you're having fun though! |
